Ranbir Kapoor in Pahalgam
Actor Ranbir Kapoor is busy shooting for his film Rockstar at Pahalgam, along with the film’s actress Nargis Fakhri and director Imtiyaz Ali.
Other cast members include Piyush Mishra and Shammi Kapoor. The shooting began on May 2010 and the film is scheduled to release by mid-2011. The shooting took place at locations across Delhi including, Kotla Mubarakpur, Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah, Greater Kailash, IGI airport and Connaught Place, and three-day schedule at the St. Stephen’s College, followed by one at the Hindu College, director Imtiaz Ali’s alma mater, during the winter break of these colleges.
Fakhri was born in New York Her father was Pakistani and her mother Czechoslovakian.
(GK) Large number of people arrived at Pahalgam to have a glimpse of the stars. Incidentally, Ranbir’s father Rishi Kapoor had shot his first film as a hero in his debut movie Bobby shot in Kashmir as well.
Wearing a Kashmiri Pheran, Ranbir almost mimicked the typical Kashmiri next door boy. Actress Nargis too was spotted wearing a traditional Kashmiri shawl.
Though hostile weather didn’t allow the shooting to go on for long as it began to snow heavily, but not before the scenic beauty of valley got caught in the camera featuring a shot in which the local tea stall was used as a makeshift set.
The shooting is scheduled for two more days in Pahalgam after which the cast and crew will move on to ski resort of Gulmarg.
The shooting is being done in Betaab Valley.
Additional: During the shooting, reportedly, Ranbir’s snowmobile skidded on the snow-covered road, smashing into the side barrier. Thankfully, the barrier was strong enough, or perhaps it was sheer luck that the young Kapoor escaped the crevice below. Says an eyewitness, “Everyone in the unit was stunned. When Ranbir’s snowmobile skidded out of control. It was rather sudden and unexpected. Ranbir wasn’t doing a stunt or anything. It was just a normal sequence but with the ice so treacherous one can never know what can happen.”
“Though Imtiaz Ali, the director wanted to cancel the shoot, Ranbir picked himself up and continued with the shot.
