Army Goodwill School at Liddar, Pahalgam
In a major step towards ensuring a brigher future for the (Lidder) valley’s youngsters, Army Goodwill School was announced open in Lidder, Pahalgam.
Chief of the Army Staff, Major General Deepak Kapoor, accompanied by his wife Kirti Kapoor, inaugurated the school in presence of Secretary Education, G A Peer and Director School Education, Shagufta Parveen. Senior Army officials including GOC Northern Command, Lt General PC Bharadwaj, and GOC 15 Corps, Mukesh Sabharwal, were present on the occasion.
Spread over 250 kanals, the school has been constructed at a cost of Rs 12.43 crores. The school was envisioned by former chief of the army staff, General N C Vij, who along with Mr Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, the then Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir jointly laid the foundation stone of the school on November 26, 2004.
The first academic session of the school commenced on June 2, this year with 83 students.
The school is a co-educational, residential, senior secondary school.

why don’t allow mobile holders or why u prohibited mobile sets with the student.
sir it is not neccessary that all students waste their time in playing with mobile phones i,e. any student has any problem in their home where from he attends the call

why students are not allowed to visit their homes after every fortnight.Holding of students at a younger age within the four walls of the campus for prolonged periods affects a child’s psyche and can lead to negative tendencies amongst the children

Dear Sir,
There is not any boarding school in India where mobile phones are allowed. On the second point, we are having mobile phones with staff members, if any student will be having any problem at home, his parents can call to staff members.

I think our school is now good but not enough to be compared with other Army Schools in the country.1st thing is there the staff members ar very less.2nd thing the discipline also lacks but now it is developing. and also the extra co-curricular activities are not upto the mark. If these things get developed then our school will rock da valley as well as the country.We da students don’t wanna loose any staff member we want u all 2 cm next year.Thanx 4 everythng.

I HAVE LEFT THE SCHOOL NOT BECOZ THIS WAS THE BOARDING SCHOOL AND WE WERE NOT ALLOWED TO MOVE OUT FROM THE SCHOOL TO HOME BUT DUE TO LACK OF TEACHERS.THESE YEARS ARE FUTURE MAKING YEARS AND IF THERE WILL BE SOME DRAWBACKS THEN IT WILL MOST DIFICULT TO HAND THEM IN FUTURE OTHER WISE I WILL NOT HAVE LEFT MY FAMILY AGPS

I was doing a Basic Course in Mountaineering from Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports (JIM&WS). It’s so exciting course to challenge a mountains like Rappling, Climbing, Jumaring, River Crossing and so.
